November 1, 2007 - MitoSciences CSO Rod Capaldi will chair a session on Mitochondrial Proteomics and will make a presenation entitled "Mitochondrial proteomics by antibody arraying of functional complexes" at the NIH Mitochondria Minisymposium 2008 - "Mitochondria and their Proteomics," January 9-11, 2008.

August 24, 2007 - A paper by MitoSciences' scientific team, in collaboration with the Institute for Molecular Biology at the University of Oregon, has been published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry. August 23, 2007 - Dr. James Murray will be presenting at the "Mitochondria & Oxidative Stress in Neurodegenerative Disorders" conference in New York City on September 26-29. The talk, titled "Probing the link between oxidative stress and neurodegeneration by focused proteomic analysis of mitochondrial proteins," will discuss the emerging consensus that neurodegeneration starts with the accumulation of defects in mitochondrial functioning.

August 21, 2007 - Dr. Roderick Capaldi will be giving a lecture on mitochondrial proteomics at the 64th Harden Conference. The conference, which is concerned with mitochondrial physiology, will take place at the Universtiy of Cumbria in Ambleside, UK September 14-18.

August 20, 2007 - MitoSciences will be sponsoring the Mitochondrial Research Guild's "Cure for Mito" auction. The proceeds from this event, which will take place in Woodinville, WA on September 14, will continue to support the efforts of Dr. Saneto and Children's Hospital in establishing a Center of Excellence for mitochondrial patient care and research.

May 18, 2007 - A paper published in the upcoming issue of Biotechnology and Applied Biochemistry describes the utility of MitoSciences' microplate multiplex assays to determine the amount and activity of cytochrome c oxidase (COX or Complex IV) in fibroblasts from patients with COX activity deficiency and the effect of the anti-retroviral drug 2', 3'-dideoxycytidine (ddC) on the biogenesis of the enzyme. January 24, 2007 - The University of Oregon has subcontracted MitoSciences to conduct work in fulfillment of an NIH grant for the study of Complex I and its relationship to Parkinson's Disease.

January 23, 2007 - MitoSciences has signed an agreement with Roche to conduct preclinical mitochondrial toxicity screening of lead compounds.

January 17, 2007 - A research agreement between MitoSciences and Medical University of South Carolina has been signed for collaboration on the development of antibody-based microarrays.

June 7, 2006 - MitoSciences founders Dr. Michael Marusich and Dr. Roderick Capaldi have been awarded two of the University of Oregon's first Research Innovation Awards for the creation of a leading spin-off company.

May 10, 2006 - The first possibly useful biomarker for Parkinson's Disease has been described by MitoSciences' Chief Science Officer Dr. Roderick Capaldi and his colleagues at the company, as well as at the Universities of Oregon and Virginia, in an article published in the May 18th edition of the prestigous Journal of Neuroscience. April 19, 2006 - New Product Announcement: A novel approach to assaying activity and quantity of cytochrome c oxidase (which is a biomarker for diseases such as Alzheimer's and cancer) is released with three new microplate kits. These kits require very small tissue samples, and prior isolation of mitochondria from tissue samples is not required.

March 1, 2006 - MitoSciences sponsors the SoCal Mitochondria Meeting to be held March 29 at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

March 1, 2006 - MitoSciences has been awarded a $750,000 NIH Phase II STTR grant to develop tests for focused proteomics of mitochondrial proteins and High-Throughput-Screening of mitochondrial enzymes.

February 23, 2006 - A panel from the Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum has chosen MitoSciences as the best investment prospect out of a group of four finalist presenters at the Angel Oregon event, winning the company a $150,000 investment. February 5, 2006 - MitoSciences presents evidence that mitochondrial dysfunction in HAART can be detected with simple quantitative dipstick assays for mitochondrial proteins (MitoProfile™ dipstick tests).
