Brief Description & Uses
MS861 allows for the rapid and simple preparation of a
mitochondria-enriched fraction and a cytoplasmic fraction for use in
studying the translocation of proteins into and out of mitochondria.
Particularly useful in studying apoptosis and the movement of
pro-apoptotic proteins such as cytochrome c and AIF. MS861 is also
included in the MSA11
ApoTrack™ Cytochrome c Apoptosis Kit
for Western Blotting, which is a combination of
MS861 plus
the MSA12 ApoTrack™
Cytochrome c Apoptosis Cocktail
(wich includes an antibody against cytochrome c plus markers against
mitochondrial and cytosolic proteins to control for proper
fractionation).
