Figure 1. MS703 identifies nitrated samples. Bovine heart mitochondria and BSA were nitrated and run alongside non-nitrated samples. MS703 showed specificity to the nitrated samples.

Figure 2. MS703 is specific to nitrotyrosine. Prior to runnning the same samples as in Figure 1, the membrane was treated with sodium dithionite to reduce nitrotyrosine to aminotyrosine. As can be seen from the figure, MS703 recognizes only nitrated tyrosine.

Figure 3. MS703 is specific to protein-bound nitrotyrosine. In this experiment, MS703 was first blocked with free nitrotyrosine before being used to blot the membrane. The figure shows that MS703's binding capacity was not inhibited by the free nitrotyrosine, and so only binds to the protein-bound form.

Nitrotyrosine monoclonal antibody

Catalog No. MS703

$295.00 - 100 µg

UniProt Number: n/a
Alternate Names: nitrotyrosine, 3-nitrotyrosine
Structure and Function: Nitrotyrosine is formed on protein tyrosine residues by peroxynitrite-induced nitration and is considered a sensitive marker for oxidative stress. Nitrotyrosine can be found in tissue in both free and protein-bound forms. Anti-nitrotyrosine antibody MS703 is specific to the protein-bound form (see Figure 3 at left).
