Structure and Function: Core protein 2 ((UQCR2/QCR2) is a subunit of complex III, a component of the ETC responsible for transferring electrons from coenzyme Q to cytochrome c. Complex III consists of 11 subunits, two of which are core proteins. The core protein 2 subunit of complex III is necessary for formation of the complex.
