2,4-dienoyl-CoA reductase (DECR1)

UniProt Number: Q16698
Alternate Names: 2,4-dienoyl-CoA reductase [NADPH], 4-enoyl-CoA reductase [NADPH], DECR
Structure and Function: DECR1 is an auxiliary enzyme of beta-oxidation. It participates in the metabolism of unsaturated fatty enoyl-CoA esters having double bonds in both even- and odd-numbered positions. Catalyzes the NADP-dependent reduction of 2,4-dienoyl-CoA to yield trans-3-enoyl-CoA.
Disease Associations: Mutations in the DECR1 gene may result in 2,4 Dienoyl-CoA reductase deficiency. [MIM:222745]
